What Home Means to Me
Home doesn’t just mean a safe place to live; it means family and love.
Let me tell you a story one of my teachers told me. Once there was a baby penguin named Pip, who lived near the south pole. He lived with his family, but they were so busy he got bored and lonely and set off on his own. He came across many cool things on his little adventure, but it soon became a misadventure and he wound up cold, lost and lonely far away from home.
Eventually, when he was at his lowest point, when he was hungry and thirsty and almost frozen solid from the bitter cold, Pip was on the verge of giving up when he saw his parents coming towards him. Then, his excitement turned to fear that they would punish him for wandering off foolishly. This was replaced though by love, the love his parents gave him when they reunited with him, saying that home is where the three of them were, wherever that may be.
It's the same for me; home is wherever my family and friends may be!
