Nothing But Love
What do you think home is? I think that home has a special meaning to it, one that is different for every person. It could be a home that a pet was in or it could be a grandparents house but no matter what, a home is love.
Home is where memories are made. When I moved houses I still brought my most cherished memories with me. The smell of the kitchen whether my Dad was baking a pie or making supper, the smell always lingered like a fog, you could hear the crackle of the oven as it was cooking the bacon for breakfast.
I still remember the back yard. It had a garden next to the porch. My sister and I always went to the garden in the warmer months and picked raspberries, saskatoon berries and blueberries from the garden and either ate them right off the bush or made pies with them. Now, I’ve moved to two different houses and made them into homes by making more cherished memories there with my family.
What defines family? A home doesn't always have to be full of family by blood. A home can be full of friends that feel like family. Friends can do the same things as a family, they can comfort you, make you laugh, but most importantly they make you feel loved just like a family by blood.
Home can also be the place where love is eager to break down your walls and give you a huge hug. It’s the umbrella in a rainstorm, the warmth on a cold day. A house may have things in it but a home is where memories are made.
