Home is a Warm Cookie

My home is a space I feel I belong, a blanket and a tight knot. I feel I belong in my home, because everyone treats me equally (sometimes not my brother). The kitchen, one of the best places to be if you ask me, because I love baking muffins and cookies, especially ginger crinkle cookies. I also love my room. My room is where I sleep at night and where most of my belongings are and in my very comfortable bed. I feel I belong. My home is a fluffy blanket that warms me in the summer and winter. In winter some people think, “Oh it is so cold!” No one wants to go outside. For me, it’s the opposite (I don’t like going outside though)! I love to snuggle up in a bed or on a couch. My two cats, Theo and Splodge, come up to join me one at a time and lay on my feet to keep them warm. I feel the vibration of them purring. It’s a very relaxing feeling. In summer, I feel warmth when I am outside or sitting on the floor and looking out the backdoor. It’s even more magical when a ray of sunshine beams down on me. I am overcome with joy. The best part is when my cats join in. It’s always a delight to see them ! I love being warm in my blanket home. My home is a tight knot. The strings that create the knot are the people in my family who I love. The super thin strings are my cats. The strings are always filled with love, joy and laughter. The people in my home are always together (unless you go shopping with my dad) and they’re there for one another and me. My cats Splodge and Theo are there for me when I need them for support or just to hang out. No one would ever be able to undo the tightly knit bond between us. We are a strong, loving family knot. I love my home as a knot as long as love runs through it. My home is a place that I belong, a blanket where warmth runs freely, and a place where love runs through a knot.
