A House is just a Building
A house is just a building
Home is a place I can be myself. I get to feel my soft bed and
my fuzzy, cozy, blue, fluffy blanket. I see my curious but strange
dog as soon as I walk in the door when I’m back from school.
I go up to my room or my cave/lair/headquarters. I taste
whatever snack I sneakily racooned into my room that day. I
come down when I’m called for dinner and I smell whatever
delicious meal my mom cooked us that day. I hear the music I
put on depending on how I am feeling that day. Then I hop
into bed and thank everyone, my mum, my dad, my sister …
and so on for my beautiful home. But a house is just a building
that doesn’t hold people, memories or loved ones. It does not
feel as safe or cherished as a home. Nothing compares to
home because a home is like the outside shell of a snail. It
protects you, keeps you happy, and keeps you warm and cozy.
