What Home Means to Me

A home is not a house, A house is not a home. A home is a home, and a house is a house, and that's how it goes. A home is a place to relax and feel safe. A home makes you feel loved by your family around you, and they support you. A home is where you are cozy, comfortable, and chill. A house isn’t cozy; It’s just a place to live. It’s a place you stay, and one day, you move away. A home does not go away. It stays with you forever, everywhere you go. Home is the smell of your dog’s fart blasting in the air and staring at everybody. Home is the sound of Home alone movie playing on the TV, and the snowy winter day covering the deck with a blanket of snow. Home is a soft fuzzy blanket covering me from head to toe. Home is the sound of the warm crackling fire warming me up from the cold day building a snowman with my brother. Home is the sound of Christmas carols and bells jingling around the Christmas tree. Home is the sound of my dog barking to the squirrels. Home is the smell of my mom’s delicious garlic bread baking in the oven. Home is the sound of my dog snoring loudly beside me, and also excited for Christmas. Home is the sound of my dad’s alarm waking me up, and my mom’s best french toast grilling on the pan. Home is the smell of my brother’s stinky breath (because he doesn’t brush his teeth) and running to the Christmas tree and unwrapping his gifts rapidly.
