The Meaning Of Home
Home is a place we do not all have, but all should. It is a place where you are safe. You have a roof over your head. A wonderful place for you and your family to make wholesome memories. No one deserves not to have one.
Many people think a home and a house are the same thing, but they are in fact, not. A house is simply a shelter. A house has value, but it is not as special as a home. If you don’t have a home, things will be difficult. Parents might be stressed, causing an unpleasant environment. A home is a place where you are safe. It’s a place where you spend time with friends and family.
Someone without a house, we call houseless. We used to call them homeless, but they are not without a home, but without a house. Their home might be a specific place, like a bench near a river, or a tent, but neither of those are really that safe. That is why everyone deserves a safe place to call home.
To me, my home is a place I feel safe to be myself. I live with my family and spend time with my friends. But, I feel as though I actually have multiple homes.
One place is my local pool. I am a competitive swimmer and three times a week I practice there along with my teammates.
Then, I have school. I’m at school a lot. I have been at my school since Kindergarten. I love greeting my friends and teachers in the mornings and looking at the art hung on the wall.
I am extremely grateful for my home. I have spent countless hours creating wonderful memories, and some bad ones, but my friends and family are always forgiven.
