Home is the Key to my Confidence

Believe it or not, home and house mean different things! A house is a pile of bricks where you eat, sleep and drink, but a home is much more. A home is somewhere you should feel happy, confident and have a lot of pets to comfort you when you need it most. That is what I think home is, but home means different things to different people. My home is a happy place, because whenever I walk into my happy home from a long day of school my two amazing parents are there to open the door and ask how my day went, they just make my day so much happier! Not only that, but every Friday since we don’t have school the next day, my family and I would watch a movie (with popcorn, of course). And every night that we’re free, we would read a book together on the couch. That’s why every night in my house is a happy night. In my home, I’m always confident! At school at the park and at some softball practices, I don’t feel as confident as I would at home. But at school if I trip over my words, my classmates will remind me about it and make me feel small about it. But at home, I can trip over my words. I can even say the wrong word entirely and my family won’t make me feel small or remind me about it for the next week. That’s why at my home I feel confident. The final piece of my home is my pets! I have two pets, one is a lizard. He is a pastel leopard gecko. And his name is Buzzy Bee (We called him Buzzy Bee because when we first got him whenever my dad picked him up he would buzz like a bee, so we called him Buzzy bee). My lizard is so cooperative that he lets me dress him up. And my other one is a fish. (The king of the house.) His name is caramel (He is the most aggressive fish in my home). Fun fact my lizard and fish look the exact same! To some people that might seem like a lot of pets, but that’s not all of my pets. My dad has about 70 other fish. And guess what? One of them is a shark (the species is called rainbow shark) so it’s not actually a shark. We had a cat named Jasmine, but she left us about nine months ago. But the bright side is, she lived a long, happy life. My home is not complete without these three things. I am always happy in my home, I am always confident in my home, and I have a lot of adorable pets to comfort me in my home.
