The Meaning of Home
Meaning of Home; is seeing my dog and cat when I get home from school. It is seeing my squishmellows neatly arranged in my room. Home is my lego collection and plants everywhere. Home is my mom is saying how is your day and my dog barking. Home is hearing my dog’s feet clicking across the floor. It is hearing my sister practicing her trumpet. Home is hearing my dad’s truck come home from work. At dinner it smells so good that it makes my tummy growl. Home is waking up to the smell of coffee in the kitchen. Home is the yummy, delicious smell of bacon on the weekend. And on wet days it smells like a wet dog. Home is the taste of chocolatey ice cream and sweet watermelon in the summer. It is the taste of garden kale cooked with garlic scapes.
Home is that cozy feeling I get when I steal my mom’s plush slippers. Home is wrestling with my brother on the hard floor. Home is feeling the soft blanket on the couch. Home is feeling toasty and warm under my heated blanket in bed. Home feels safe and happy. Home is where I feel relaxed and recharge.
