The Meaning of Home

Home isn’t just a place to stay; it’s a place to feel safe. When I am at home, I can hear my dog barking. I’m not always sure what he is barking at, but his barks are loud enough for me to hear them. When I am at home, I can listen to my TV. It's mostly my sister watching whatever show she likes to watch, but it is sometimes me and my brother watching Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, or Mob Psycho 100. When I am at home, I can hear my brother playing Lego. I usually hear him saying, “Take cover blam boom. Call in the helicopter!” When I am at home, I can smell my mom pulling freshly made banana bread out of my oven. It smells so good that I can almost taste it. When I’m at home I can taste warm Itchy ban on my tongue. I love the taste of the warm broth covered noodles on my tongue. I can also taste delicious candy from the Dollar store. My favorite candy is Life Savers. I love the smell of my mom making cookies. It’s just an amazing smell. When I smell cookies, I know I'll have cookies in my lunch for the next few days. When I am at home, I can feel the soft stuffies in my bed. This is one of my favorite feelings because it means that it is time for bed. Another thing I can feel is a keyboard and mouse. This means that I am gaming. I love gaming so I like this feeling. When I am at home I feel safe. I also feel happy. Some other things I feel are calm, cozy, and loved. That is what home feels like to me.
