How I Like Home

Home isn't just a place to play video games or sleep, it’s a place to make life long memories , it's a place where you take your first steps, and everything in between. I see my bed and my favourite blue pillow. I see the table where my family eats. Home to me is a safe place to express your feelings. Your house is made from steel and stone but your home is made from love and memories. No matter where you go you will always have a home because the love and memories that built your old home will follow you and help you build your new home. Your house is still a house even if nobody is living in it, because it’ll always be a house. Your home is where you feel welcome, where you feel safe and loved. I feel the relaxation of a hot bath. I feel wanted and loved at a new level of kindness. I'll never forget the joy and happiness I felt on Christmas morning when we were showing each other our Christmas gifts. When I think back to those Christmas mornings it gives me a wave of warmth. When I think of home I feel the warmth of hot chocolate. I feel the warmth of the fire while I’m sipping on eggnog. When I think of home I taste the yummy key lime pie we have at Christmas dinner. Your home doesn’t have to be a structure, it could be a nice calm park, or maybe it’s a bench along the reservoir where you can hear the birds singing and the wind whistling. Maybe your home isn’t even in the city, town, or village that you live in. It could be in the mountains, or in the forest. Home can be anywhere.
