Home is More

Home is like a giant pillow that’s filled with love. Home is where I feel loved and cared for. Home isn’t just a house, it’s where I feel safe. Something that reminds me of my home is the dog that always sits on the shelf by the hallway. It is brown, has floppy ears, and a pointy nose. The walls of my home feel cold. Especially the one beside my bedroom. When my mom cooks steak, I see the steak slowly turning brown and juicy. When I wake up I see my clothes nicely laid out for me. When I’m at home I can watch my favourite show on the tv. When I go outside I hear the birds chirping, well, used to. Now, when I go outside I hear the wonderful sound of children playing in the snow and building with the snow. When it snows in front of my house I feel the snowflakes gently touch me on my neck. A home can be bigger than a house. Home can be the playground near my house. Home can be my whole neighborhood where I can ride my bike, take walks and run around. When I am not at my house, I can think of places I am happy, safe, healthy, and loved as home. Home to me can also be where I figure skate. Home can be a best friend's house. We play and eat like I do in my own house. When I am at home I like to play with my cousin. He is so funny, he makes me laugh and giggle until I’m rolling on the floor. Sometimes I play with this little red ball with my cousin. We throw it around like a baseball and we bounce it up and down like a basketball.
