The Meaning of Home

The meaning of home to me is that home: is not a house or a building where people live. But, home is a place in someones heart where they feel loved and cared for. That could be a somewhere you grew up or a friends that you feel safe, it could even be the forest or the ocean it is a place that you consider a ‘safe place.’ Wen I think of my home I think of the warm pine smell, because I live in the forest. I consider the forest to be my home, not just because that’s where I live, but because that’s where I remember growing up. Just 5 year old me saying mom there’s a deer outside or look how pretty the fog is, because that’s what I remember. My home and childhood and what it is right now. To me the home is a warm cozy place in the woods of B.C., Victoria. To me my home is very special to me. My home is very cozy and I think it’s fun and cool, but mentally I can’t imagine losing my home or my house because it’s very important that I have a home, but the meaning of home doesn’t revolve around me, it is very different to different people. To someone that doesn’t have a good home situation they might think of a friends home as theirs. But, someone that doesn’t have a house might think my home is thehomeless shelter or the corner alley or even behind the dumpster of a restaurant they need somewhere to stay and that’s how they survive! So it’s very important you cherish and appreciate your home because you might miss it in the future, but everyone deserves a Home. Thank you for reading. The End
