What is a Home

A home is defined by memories, love, and belonging. My home is defined by a welcoming, warm, and cozy atmosphere. It’s where my family and I live, my huge family. It has a mother, a father, and my 3 siblings that ensure I never feel locked in solitude. It's chaotic, and loud at times; a home being packed with people will always result in noisiness of course. But my home is where I run for shelter, for safety, for strength. Because it’s the place where I feel secure, loved, and appreciated, and that will never change.   My kitchen always releases an aroma of delightful snacks. The scent tangling into the air and enveloping me into my own sense of happiness. My mother loves to cook; she throws food onto a pan and works her magic. When she’s done, she feeds it to me and my siblings; it’s always delicious no matter what. And if I had to define my kitchen, I’d honestly say “A humble feeling of warm home-cooked meals.”   My bedroom is always cozy enough for me to lay down and snuggle with my pillow after a rough day. It’s where I reside after long school hours, where I study, where I play, and where I sleep. And it’s been through everything with me. My living room is what welcomes people into my home with the sight of a long couch and wooden floorboards that are old and dusty but carry memories. Memories that aren’t replaceable no matter- the budget.   For me, it doesn’t matter if a home is a mansion, or worth a million dollars. It’s the memories that define it. It’s always been the memories. So, these examples may not be the most elegant, but it’s mine, and I wouldn’t change a thing.
