If the Walls Could Talk

If the walls could talk. I never understood that when I was younger. I figured, walls can't talk? I mean after all, my little five year old brain couldn't really think past the fact that walls were just wood, cement, concrete, stone and brick. But as I got older and life wasn't just crayons and playtime and napping I slowly started to realize that home is really important. I mean, when I walk in as soon as I smell that home smell from the dusty doormat, I feel safe. Like nothing in the world could ever bother me. To the world, my home is just an address and a street, but to me it's the best place ever. As soon as I step in and see the perfect imperfect chips on the wall, I feel so very sheltered. The walls hold more than paint, they also hold when I first rode my bike without training wheels and when we all had our first birthday here. I see my life when I look at those walls. In a way, it's a museum of my life here. Ultimately, I guess my house means safe, protected, sheltered, and home. So I guess when people say If the walls could talk, I think I know what it means. It means home.
