What Home Means To Me
Home means smelling cookies right out of the oven. It’s like seeing siblings after a school day and seeing my dog, cat, fish, and my lizard. On Boxing Day we go to my nan’s and pop’s house. On Christmas we go to my nan’s and old nan’s and have a yummy turkey dinner.
When I get bored I go on my bed and go on my phone but some kids don’t have that. I’m in a lot of sports like hockey (I'm a goalie), softball, and swimming. Some kids are not fortunate enough to be able to participate. Also some kids don’t have a place to call home. For example, they move a lot or they have a foster family which you don’t know if you stay or not. When I have my birthday we have cake and some people don’t have enough money for it.
When my dad comes home from work we play games. My dad works on an oil rig since I was a baby. When I get home from school my mom yells “Scarlett’s home!” I feel like I'm more at home when she does that. That's the meaning of home to me.
Thank you Habitat for Humanity for letting me do this for you .
