The Meaning Of Home
Have you ever wondered what the difference between a house and a home is? Well I'm here to tell you all about it. A house is four walls and a roof, but a home is so much more than that! A home is the soft sound of laughing and the warmth of a hug. A home is a place to goof around and be silly. It’s a place to use your imagination. A house is a place to feel safe and loved. We’ll go on adventures and meet new people that will be there for you - people that will never leave your side.
When I think of home, I think of my family and friends. I just wanna say thank you to Josie, Emma, Maria, Scarlett, Ava, Locklynn, my little sister Maggie, my older brother Cody, my mom, my dad, and even my cat, Tinkles. Some homes have traditions, such as opening a gift on Christmas eve, having a game/movie night every month or week, or having jiggs dinner every Sunday.
To me, home is my bunk bed I share with my sister Maggie. Home is the hug of a family member. Home is the sound of my cat meowing when I get home from school, hockey, volleyball, or dance. Home is the smell of freshly baked cookies I make with my dad. Home means a warm plate every night, and a nice light breakfast before school. My sister and I go to the same school, so we sit on the bus together, but my brother is in high school.
Like I said, this is what home means to me. I want to thank Habitat for Humanity for making this wonderful program.
Love, Hannah-Georgia Ash
