What Home Means to Me

To me home isn't just a building it's the heart of my family. Its the place where memories are born, Just like the time my mom and I made cookies and it was my first time baking. Home is a place where you feel safe and included. in your home you should feel safe and respected. When you have a bad day you should be able to come home. At home I feel warm inside like I belong.Home be anything to you it could be a building, a tree or just somewhere you feel safe. When I walk down the stairs I can smell the sweet smell of freshly baked cookies. I love the taste of mashed potatoes and steak made by my dad and mom. I love the noise of blue jays chirping. I love the feeling of perfect smores on a nice summer day. I love looking down at the water front in the spring. Some people say home is just a building but disagree. I think home can be anything, sure home can mean a house or apartment but it can be a boat, but it is really wherever you feel safe, loved and belong. So yes to me home isn't a building at all, it is where we stay connected to family, friends and whatever is important to you. That is why I’m grateful to Habitat for humanity for giving home to those in need.
