A Home Isn't Just a House

A home isn’t just a house It can be a hole for a little mouse. Or a garden for ants to play Even a farm for horses and hay. A home can be a den for a daddy snake. Also a fish's pond or lake. It could be a cave for a little bear Even a log for a mother hare. A great wide field for an ox Or a den for a baby fox. A little tree for a Snowy owl Or a great big forest for wolves to howl. This is what home means to others. Now this is what home means to me. My home is a place where I can play. My home is a place where I can lay. Maybe a place where I can run Even a place where I have fun. Home is a place where my parents care Also where I snuggle my bear. Home is a place where I get a chance To smile and do my happy dance. Home is where I can be sad Even a place where I can be mad. Also a place where I can cry. My home is a place where I’m not shy!
