What Does Home Mean to Me?

Imagine someone asks you to draw a picture of your home. What would it look like? Would there be people in the drawing? Or maybe even a house? Today I will be sharing my thoughts and beliefs about what I think home is. According to my opinion, home doesn’t always have to be shelter or a specific location. I don’t think that “home” is always a house. I believe that home is an emotion that you can get if you’re with family, guardians, friends, or loved ones. So basically, home is when you are trapped in a moment where you feel safe, get a sense of belonging, or feel those other happy feelings. Like, sometimes people say, “Come home.” to their children but do they mean that or do they mean, “Come back to your family.” Home can also be someplace that you have strong connections to. For example, hometowns. They are places that you might consider home, right? Maybe you were born there or was raised there. Also, it doesn’t have to be a town or city; it can be a whole country or the actual continent itself. Like if someone was born in a different continent then came here for various reasons, wouldn’t they feel nice if they came back to that same continent? The term “Home” can come in many various shapes and different sizes, but there’s one thing that they all have in common: that wonderful, heartwarming feeling you get when you think of home. Home’s meaning can differ according to different people, but this is what I think that home is and will always be to me.
