What Home is to Me!

When I think of home, I think of my pet fishies,(And my pet frog,Tofu.)my mom and dad and my neighbourhood friends. When I am at home I feel supported, safe and calm. A home is where someone lives and makes memories. A house is just a building, a former home or a future home. I am grateful to have a home, because not all people do. Some people sleep on a bench at night, and others don’t sleep at all. Some people just can’t afford a house to call home, and have to make hard decisions like “food or rent?” In my backyard,I sled with my friends during the winter. I watch the birds eat from the bird feeders and then I watch them splash in the pond in my yard during the spring and summer. I help my mom plant seeds and bulbs in the garden and sometimes I soak her with the hose by accident. I love to wake up early in the morning to see the sunrise. I love to look up and see the stars. I love to listen to the wind howling through the trees. When I’m at my grandma’s house, I can hear the crickets and the frogs at night. I can see the fireflies. I can see the garden snakes sleeping in between the rocks and under the bushes. I can hear the fish splashing in the lake, jumping up at the bugs.
