Home is Where the Heart Is
Home is where I feel safe, loved and supported by everyone around me. I trip on soccer balls, skin my knees and make memories with everyone around me. Home is where me and my family laugh when I put down a card that said "sitting atop a pile of tuna like some kinda tuna queen” in cards against humanity.
Home is where I celebrate my sports achievements. “I got a goal!”I said. Letting my family know that I won my soccer game ten to nothing. Home is where I tell my parents I swam four hundred metres in a row. Home is where I rest my legs after playing three soccer games in only two days.
When I think of home I think of being cozy in my bed with twinkle lights around me and a huge book in my hands. Home is where I write stories in bed and share them. I grow to be kind, smart, active and make new friendships. Home is where my blankets with cozy designs sit on the unmade bed with piles of books everywhere you look.
I see my brother being goalie and the parents talking in the neighborhood and though they might not notice it we are all becoming better friends. Just the sight of my neighborhood getting along makes me happy.
If my home ever burnt down I would be most sad about the house. I would miss the cozy and safe feelings I got when I walked through the door, and the feeling of my life. My home sometimes feels like my life, it supports me and makes me feel loved, cared for, safe and strong.
