A Home Forever

A home is not a house. A home is a place you can count on to keep you safe. A home can be a box because the structure is not what makes it a home, it’s the love, peace and kindness within it. Nothing can beat the feeling of being with your family. After school I’m so lucky to be able to go home to the sweet fresh smell of my moms cooking breezing through the air and my brother studying on the couch. My cute little pup who’s waiting at the top of my stairs wagging his tail ready to pounce on me as soon as I take my first step onto the stairs. In the hallway, there's pictures of memories that I will never forget because a home can and will hold memories forever. Even if you move, you’ll never forget the home that used to be yours. That home has become a part of your heart and it will always be there. Over time you might even have children, pets, siblings and parents. That's what makes it a home. Your home is like a warm cozy blanket that wraps around you to keep you safe. It is like a guardian angel not letting go and nobody will hurt you. If your home burned down you’ll be sad or depressed, maybe even lonely for weeks because you know you're never going to find a home like yours ever again but if a random house burned down you wouldn’t even care. That's why once it's a home it’s a home forever and nobody can take that away from you. I'm so grateful that Habitat for Humanity is doing this for people who are homeless or in need so they can get a forever home like mine.
