Home isn’t where you are born, It’s where you are loved

You walk in the door as you see the mat that says “welcome!” You can smell the food in the kitchen as you walk in, the pinch of cinnamon, a sprinkle of oregano, and when you taste it, you can feel the love and the effort that went into making it. The food can be naan, maybe a sandwich, or any food you love. As you eat in the living room, you hear the laughter, the ‘’yummies’’, the “wows”, and “this food is too good!” While you eat, you see the pictures of memories of kindness and of happiness. Each frame shows a window in time, past or present, where it will stay in place. As you go to the bathroom, you see the toilet, the shower, the sink and you notice everything is clean and nice and that is how you should treat others. Next, you go to your room where you notice the night light, the bed, your desk, and your toys, all in one place. You start to think “ what is home?” and rush downstairs. You hug your family and say, “home isn’t a place, isn’t it?” Home is love, care, and feeling. It's where you can be free, get food, and sleep. Home is family.
