Home, the Place I Find Love

Four walls make a house, but the people make it home. Home is where I find comfort and peace. The days I don’t feel like myself, home is my encouragement. Every day, home just feels like a big warm hug. As my mom makes the food, the magical scent fills the house and gives me warmth. As we all sit together and talk about our day I feel like I have found love. I feel like I have found a place where I’m understood. Even if I travel every single corner of the world I will only find peace at home. On one of the corners of my home my toys remain. On another corner of the room is my dog Leo's picture. He is the one thing that connects my life in India and here in Canada. Leaving my home country wasn’t easy but we built a new one here. For me, the outside world is hard, but when I'm at home I feel undefeatable. I can assure that everyone truly finds love and peace at home. Home is like my princess castle, the sun shining and the birds chirping make it feel like I'm in a fairy tale. On the weekends, everyone settles under their blankets watching movies, laughing and chattering. The thing is it's not about the movies it’s about when we all connect. My family shaped our home and in return it shaped us, marked our value, and became the reflection of who we are. Thank you habitat for Humanity for giving inspiration to kids all over Canada to do good deeds in life. Knowing I have a roof above my head, I wish everyone could have the same.
