My Home

Home. Family, peace, love. Warm food at supper. Dad strumming a tune on his guitar while I shower. Mom softly singing me to sleep. This is home. My cats, one a black-and-white licker, one a tabby purrer. A brother. Protective, loving, and humorous. My room with soft covers to snuggle underneath. This is home. Making memories. Shelter and warmth from the cold. My bed and stuffies, food and full bellies, bring coziness. Lots of people do not have a place to call home. Many people do not have a fire to keep them warm. A place to be themselves. A place to feel free. We should make a difference. Help people find homes. Make more homes filled with peace and love. This is my home.
