A Home is not a Home without You
A home is not a home without you.
We move far away. I know we aren't here forever, and I don't want to be, but with you, it feels like a home.
In that tall, far away building people stare at us and they don't stop staring. But you look at me, we laugh, we love, we joke. I know we are different, but you make me feel safe. I know it's temporary. But it feels like a home.
We cuddle up together, turning on a movie we’ve watched many times. We laugh at the same jokes. We huddle up when it turns scary. We run around when the movie turns exciting. I forget we are in a tall far away building because with you, it feels like a home.
We move again, somewhere unfamiliar. We eat dinner together. Talking about our day and what exciting things I learned at school. Even when nothing much has happened, you always listen. We’re eating the dinner you made for us, because you know it's my favourite. We’ve moved again and I know it's temporary. But you will always make it feel like a home.
That unfamiliar feeling of that place slowly disappears because it starts to feel familiar like I’ve been here forever. I know why I feel that way. Because you made it feel like a home. You made it feel like I have a place here. Like I will be here forever. You made me feel free like I can spread my wings like an angel. With you it feels forever because of the endless memories we’ve shared here in this unfamiliar place. And I know we are moving again. But with you it will feel like a home.
