What Home Means To Me

ERRRRCH! The bus stops on the gravel lane in front of my house. As I walk up to the house my dog Bailey comes running up to me. She tries to jump up because she's so excited to see me! The smells of Mom making supper greet me as I step inside. Once I'm in the house I take off my winter gear so I can hang it up. Then I grab a snack because I'm always hungry after school. After I’m done with my snack I sit on the couch to do my homework. If I don't have homework then I go downstairs to watch TV. I follow this same routine most school days. I feel safe in the repetition, knowing someone will always be there To greet the school bus and have a snack ready for me. I know I’m lucky, that not every kid feels this safe and loved. I’m happy there are organizations like Habitat for Humanity To help give kids a home like mine.
