Meaning Of Home

When you hear the word home, how would you describe it? For me its safety, warmth and most importantly, family. Safety is a very important matter. Rarely, not always, random storms or events pop up. For example, covid. Covid was a virus during the year 2019 and currently still is around. One of the policies was to stay isolated in your house. Obviously, you could still leave but it was acquired that you wear a mask and stay 6 feet apart from everyone. While this was going on some people didn’t have a home, they could’ve been sick on the streets or anywhere. Although things were already worse for them, covid would’ve been much worse. Secondly warmth. Warmth is a feeling that causes comfort. Places around the whole world have different cycles and temperature for months. Or, just in general mostly always cold. Canada being one of the many, is very cold during the months February, January, October, September, November and December. I couldn’t imagine being stuck outside during Canadas weather. But there are people who live that experience every day. Some without blankets, warm food, and mainly while celebrating holidays and so there’s no hot cocoa, no warm crackling fire against your hands and face. Lastly family. Family to me is very important. Without my parents I wouldn’t be enjoying the meals I get to eat or the new clothes I can style. Without my friends I wouldn’t be enjoying school as much as I am now. I’m grateful for my home but next time you feel it’s not enough, some people can’t even enjoy those type of tiny things. That’s what home means to me. What does it mean to you?
