My Home

Home is a place like no other. It is a place where you can truly be yourself and unwind after an enduring, hard day of work or school. It is a magnificent place that smells and tastes like the sweet southern aroma of my mom’s Sri Lankan cooking. Home feels like the safe, warm couches in a living room where family time is spent building memories that will last a lifetime. The home looks like a place for family time and fun, where people come together to help one another. Home sounds like my brothers and I disputing and agreeing with each other simultaneously. It also sounds like all of us listening to our favourite songs together. Home isn’t just a place, it is people coming together and being a family, making memories, helping each other, and building strong bonds that will never break. Everyone deserves to have all of those things. Nobody should be deprived of those opportunities and they should be able to make those memories. So thank you, Habitat For Humanity, for trying to make this world, our shared world, a better place.
