Meaning of Home

What does home mean to me? Home to me is a place where I feel comfortable and loved. Home is a place where I grew up. Some people are probably wondering, What’s the difference between a house and a home? Well, a house and home are two completely different locations. How? Well a house is just a structure that gives the main necessities like food, water, shelter etc. Except, a house doesn’t give that feeling. What feeling exactly? Well the feeling of comfort. The feeling of fun. Don’t get me wrong, I'm sure a house is fun too, but a home makes me feel more comfortable and relaxed. I mean just think about it, the word “home” by itself already sounds more cozy than “house.” Aside from that, let's go back to what home means to me. Home is a place where I feel safe. Home is a place where you should be comfortable, relaxed and have fun. Another thing about what home means to me is that it is a place where you can make/create memories with your friends and family. No matter what size your home is, you should still be grateful because some people don’t even have a home. No matter how small or big your home is, you will always have all of the necessities to keep you alive, like for example, you have a floor to prevent your feet from hurting, you have a wall to lean on, you have a door to prevent strangers from coming in, you have water to prevent you from dehydration, you have food to prevent you from hunger, you have family members to take care of you and take care of you when you’re sick and in general and most importantly you have a roof over your head to keep you dry when it rains. An additional thing on what home means to me is home is also a place where you have nice people living around you.(Neighbours) They probably come to your place(home) once in a while to hang out, talk and play, they will cheer you up when you’re sad and finally the closer you get to them and start to hang out even more, the more they will act like one of your best friends.
