What Home Means To Me

Home, it's a place that everyone should have. A place where you can turn to, a place that makes you glad. No matter who you are, your race, ethnicity and scars. You should have a home waiting for you that will be there through the light and the dark. It should have the feeling of love, everlasting rays of sun. The smell of summer fun, running through the sprinklers on the grass that's still undone. The delicious taste of those unforgettable homemade meals . That your mom made as you tried to ride your bike with only two wheels. Because you knew that your dad would always catch you. You trusted him, he was the one of the few. The sight of sunsets setting on the beach you're already forgetting. The memories of your first steps, in reading, writing, and making new friends. Going to school for the first time. Looking at the sidewalk for that single dime. Trying to shoot a basketball, even though you're only three feet tall. A home should be a place that brings you up after all your falls. It doesn't have to be a physical place at all. It could just be a being that answers all your calls. A community that will always care for you. The family that you always knew. If you have someone, at least one person who cares as much... That should be enough. So that is why I need you to know, that is what makes up a home.
