What Home Means to Me
Many people think home is a place. But for me, it is a feeling. Because it makes me love the person who lives with me. Two years ago, I was living in Hong Kong, China. As the ruler of this place was too bad, my mom proposed that we were going to move to Canada. Then 2 months later, she went to Canada and waited for us for 2 years. At that time, she wasn’t here so I felt uncomfortable. Luckily, my dad and my two sisters are still here. So I have not many feelings. After me and my family arrived in Canada and saw my Mom, I got my feelings back.
Home for me is a big experience. Although moments of my left have changed, I still have the feeling. My home is also full of people and they are called ‘Family’. I believe that family is a relative term, nothing to do with blood, defined by relationships. No matter where I go in the future, I can always go back home. After all, home is where the heart is.
If you buy a new house, you are going to start a new chapter in your life. Because all of your friends, places and your relatives are gone. Just like me in Hong Kong, I moved to Canada. And I start a new life. For example, in a video game you have a file and you are going to start another one. But don’t worry because you saved your first file and it won’t be gone. So as I say, you can always visit your old house when you have a new house.
As someone says, ’A home belongs to you, but you belong to a home.’
