Meaning of Home

There is a difference between a house and a home. My home is a safe and comfortable place that I live in where people (and a cat) care about me. The main distinction between a house and a home for me is that a house is a structure without feelings, a home is somewhere you want to be. Home is somewhere I feel safe and secure, where people support and respect me. A house can look boring and plain on the outside, but when you walk into it, it could be colorful and creative. Everyone is different and their families and situations are different so their homes won't be the same. Also, my family plays a big part in my life, they make the house I live in my home. They make sure I am feeling alright and ask how my day was, they make me feel appreciated. My parents think of things that we can do together to have a good time as a family. We love and care about each other. Finally, it is a place that is comfortable and I feel safe in. The people around me are courteous, friendly, thoughtful, and selfless. My neighbors sometimes help shovel the snow on our driveway and rake our leaves. My bed and the couches are very comfortable and I enjoy sitting on them reading a book.. I feel safe when I am at home and with my family. Home is a place where you live with a family that cares about you.
