Home
What home means to me is different than what it would mean to others. To me, it is more than just four walls, a roof over my head, a bed to sleep in every night and food on the table. It is a place where I can be myself and not feel like I am going to get judged or must change for any reason because the people love have been there for me my entire life. There are many places where l feel that cannot be like myself, but my home is quite different.
When I was two years old my family and left our home country Iraq, I was devastated. I didn't want to leave my whole family behind, but soon they came. We started a new home here by staying together and always because home is not a home without the people you love and care for you. You cannot build a loving home without love and care because what is the point of a home with no family or love?
A house and a home's difference to me is straightforward. To me a house is just a shelter, a roof over my head, food, water. Just something that isn't complete yet but what a home means to me is four walls with all my loved ones and a safe place to feel comfortable in and that I know l am around the people I love, care for, and keep me safe. To me it's where we can build memories altogether at home. It's where I take a bath, relax, and enjoy. A home isn't anything without love, memories, sad and happy days. Home can be a blank space but every time something new gets drawn. This is what home means to me.
