Not Just a Place
Home isn’t just a place, it has happiness and joy everywhere and it doesn’t matter if your home is big or small. I love my home and I have a lot of reasons why. So here are a few. A home is a place that you feel loved, comfortable and safe. Habitat for Humanity definitely keeps spreading the joy by helping families have a place they can call home.
First, there is so much love that goes around to everybody in my family. When my dad makes us dinner or when my mom and I do puzzles together or when I dance with my little sister and little brother I feel loved. We also watch movies, bake treats and then eat them. It’s hard to do these things if you don’t have a home.
Next, is family. My family and I just moved into a new house a little while ago and I was sad to leave my old house and when I got to my new house it was empty and plain. Then when I got everything unpacked, it looked more like a home, but it didn’t feel like a home. After a couple weeks, my family and I started to do more activities together and then it started to feel like home again because my family made it happier and comfortable.
Finally, safety. I think safety is very important in a home because when you don’t feel safe in your home it can change your whole perspective and how you feel. If you don’t feel safe then you could feel scared and if you're scared, it might be a bit uncomfortable when you're in your home. If you're uncomfortable in your house, then it won’t feel like a home anymore . When you do feel safe then you’ll be happy, want to have fun and be comfortable and joyful.
This is what home means to me. I don’t care if it’s big or small, has fancy rooms and a fancy design or any of that. It just has to have my family that loves me and makes me feel safe. Habitat for Humanity is doing a great thing to help deserving families build a home where they can feel like I do. Everyone who needs a home should get one. Habitat for Humanity is an awesome organization.
