My safe place

Home, to me, is a place where I feel safe, loved, and supported. I am not just thankful for having a roof over my head; I’m grateful for the comfort, safety, and connection I feel when my family is around. Imagine coming home to no loved ones. That wouldn’t feel like home at all. I’m lucky to have a stable home and a positive environment to live in, while many others aren’t as fortunate. This is why I’m so grateful to have a safe, loving, and supportive place to call home. Home is more than just a structure; it’s where memories are made and love is shared. It’s where I belong, and it’s where my family and my friends come together. We create unique memories in this space. I wouldn’t feel at home if it wasn’t for the people around me, including my mom, dad, and sister. They’re always there to support me, no matter what. It’s also the warm meals we share and the comfort of the living room, where we relax together. My room is where I feel safe to sleep and have fun. Home brings me a sense of security and peace, and for that, I am thankful. Many people who don’t have a home struggle with not having a safe space, and I feel very fortunate to have one. This makes me appreciate the comfort of home even more and reminds me to never take it for granted. I am thankful for my family’s support, the warmth of food, and the sense of safety that home provides. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for working to provide homes to people in Canada and helping make Canada a place where everyone can feel at home.
