A Home Is Not A House

A house is made of walls and doors, With shiny floors and painted drawers. It stands up tall, so big and wide, But something is missing deep inside. Walls can’t laugh, and roofs don't smile, A house is just a place for a while. A home is where the heart can stay, Where love and kindness fill the day. It’s where we talk and where we share, It’s full of hugs and people who care. A home has voices, loud and bright, With bedtime stories every night. The smell of cookies in the air, A home is warm, it makes you glad, It cheers you up when you feel sad. It’s not just bricks, or wood, or stone, It's the family that makes a house a home.
