This Is Home To Me

My home is more than just a place, it is a place where I can feel safe, loved and cared for. Some people think that a house is just a place where you can eat, sleep and do other stuff but for me it is more. For me, I can feel respected and appreciated. I can express myself more than I would at school or in public. Home is where I feel like I can be myself. Home is my happy place. Home feels like a warm blanket, smells like a fresh cinnamon bun with extra icing, sounds like a waterfall with love and laughter, looks like a tropical island where I can sit on the beach and swim in the ocean and tastes like fresh cookies that just came out of the oven and are a little too hot. Home is where I can feel respect, love, happiness, safety, joy, and peace. A house is a place with walls but no pictures, a floor with no furniture, a sink with no dishes, a fridge with no food or drinks, a porch with no plants, a door with no opening, and chairs with no people, a TV with no remote, and a roof with no paint. A house has strangers, a home has family and friends, a house has no feelings, yet a home is full of memories. This is home to me.
