Home

A home is where a lot of my firsts happened like my first steps, my first words and where I experienced my first love, my family. Home is love, comfort, safety, joy, sadness and happiness. Home is where you start building your foundations for life like respect and trust. Sometimes I forget how lucky I am to have a safe, loving and warm home because home for some isn't as happy. In 2024 homelessness in Ontario is over 80,000 people, which is a 25% increase from 2022. If this issue is not fixed this number will double by 2035. Home is starting to look like a privilege, not a right. I hope that we can come together to solve this issue so that the children in the future, when asked to write this same essay can write about what a great place their home is.
