The Meaning of Home

Many people think that home is where you live, and that homes and houses are the same, However, that is not true! Home is where your family is and where you feel like you belong. The front entrance of my home is bright and sunny, with a chandelier. Beside the front entrance of my house is my study room. With a computer and a desk, my study room is the perfect place to finish homework. Yet, 2.5 billion people in the world don't have access to the internet. Close to my study room is the family room. A bright room with soft sofas where the whole family can come together. In front of the family room is the kitchen, a place that smells of spices and curry. It is the place where I eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Yet, 828 million people go to sleep hungry. On the second floor of my house is my bedroom. A place where I slumber at night, and where the wildest of dreams come to life for one night. Beside my bedroom is my toy room! A place where toys are stored and where imagination comes to life. Yet, 42% of children can’t afford to play with toys. In front of my toy room is my bathroom. A place with a toilet, sink, and shower. Yet, 46% of people do not have access to proper sewage treatment. 150 million people worldwide are homeless, and I am grateful to have a home. I hope that in the future, everyone has a home and a loving family.
