What Home Means To Me
Home is more to me than just brick and stone,
it is a place I can come to, whenever I feel alone.
Walking through the door feels like a big, warm embrace,
Leaving behind the world’s busy pace.
When I’m at home, I’m always welcome,
no matter what I have done.
No other place I would rather,
when all the ones I love gather,
into one cozy room filled with joy, laughter, and light,
Making all good thoughts swirl into my head, to help soothe me at night.
Dawn breaks and in comes the sunshine,
Slowly rising above the tall trees of pine.
Awaking to sweet smells, such a treat,
all so delicious they make my heart leap.
Everything in home is done with so much care,
All the love created at home is made to share.
Walking into home, it beats with a heart so strong,
Telling me that here, everyone is to belong.
Someone is there to hold me through the hardest times,
The comfort where love always shines.
Everywhere in home, special memories are told,
Moments and treasures as precious as gold.
A place where I can be myself and never get judged,
And being me in this space, can never be smudged.
Whenever I’m in home, I feel just so free,
All the kindness and warmth in the air, that you cannot always see.
In this four-walled building where so much love is found,
It spreads and shares smiles and care all around.
The happiness that’s shared in home is undeniably real,
It’s a piece in my heart that I will always feel.
To me a house is far different than a home,
And I believe that everyone deserves one of their own.
