Home
I wake up in my bedroom, surrounded by familiar sights and smells. The familiar smell
overwhelms me and I start to feel sleepy again. Sunlight streams through the window and I feel
like I am in the right place, where I belong like I do every day. No time to daydream though,
soon I can hear my mom calling me to come and eat breakfast. The delicious aroma of baking
toast replaces the smell in my bedroom and my mouth waters. Quickly and quietly I get out of
bed and go into the kitchen. My mom busies herself over the kettle, and I start to eat. The
kitchen is a small room where wonderful aromas drift around, and where delicious foods are
made. While my mom calls my sister to come over to eat as well. I finish my breakfast, and walk
into the living room. I love the living room. It is where I can sit by the window on my warm and
comfortable couch and read my favourite books. I can feel the soft fur of my cat Cookie, as she
sits on my lap. My thighs start to hurt as I have been reading for an hour with Cookie on my lap.
I decide to go to the basement to find my sister. Most basements are drafty, but not the
basement in my home. My basement is cozy and comfortable. It is where my family can sit
down and watch a movie. I feel cheerful and bright, as I look at the familiar scene in front of me.
My family, my bedroom, and aromas make my home, in my opinion, the best one in the world,
but a home is not a building, it is a feeling that lives inside of you.
