What Home Really Means To Me

To me, home isn’t just four walls and a roof, it’s a place where love lingers in the air. It’s where family feels comfortable and safe. It's not just a normal house. A home can be as little as a small tree house, or a little shelter. A house is temporary as a home is permanent. Wherever you may go, home is where the heart is. A home doesn’t have to be a house. A home is cozy, peaceful, safe, welcoming, and much more. All you need for a home is comfort, family, and love. A home should make you feel loved, special, and joyful. If it doesn’t, it’s probably not a home! Just because my home is a house, doesn’t mean everyone’s home is. My home makes me feel special, loved and joyful. After two moves, my family has found the home for us. I love my home, and I'm sure others love their home as much as I do. A home doesn’t need to be fancy, it just needs to be right for that person/family. When people talk about homes and houses, lots of people say “Isn’t that the same thing?” No, a house and a home are not the same thing. In fact they are very different! In my home, we have some pictures from the past, but that is not mandatory for a home. One special memory from my current home is learning how to ride a bike. Sure, I miss my old homes, but this one is the one for us. Different families have perfect homes for them because everyone is different.Even if I don’t win, I believe that even a $10 entry donation can make a big difference. Thank you Homes For Humanity, for changing people’s lives.
