Home
A house is not a home. A house is a structure with a roof, walls, windows and doors, and a home is a place that lets you be you; home is where my safe space is and where I have a bed to sleep on. My home is special to me because it is where I hold my pets and hug my friends and family. Home is where I play games and talk about my day at the dinner table where my mom’s warm, delicious food is eaten up. Home is where I like to be, home is very special to me. Home is where I open my presents and have my holiday dinners. Home is where I can walk through the door and smell food baking and a yummy smell of warm gooey cookies or brownies. Some special memories in my home are when my little sister came into my life. The day she came home I cried with joy and that day I gave her my old toys. The tears, the laughter, the smiles, and the days that go by are always forever seen in my mind. One of my favorite memories I have is when I was 9 years old, when my family and I were swimming in the pool a thought had crossed my mind; we are now a happy family of 9. It was 2022 and my dad was going to have his amputation operation on his leg for as long as I can remember, he has had many operations 13 to be exact. It was scary and nerve racking, but everyone is okay now happy and healthy spoiled with love. Through thick and thin I have had a place to go and a place to call home, people to talk to and clothes to wear. I have people to trust, and I know that I am surrounded with love and joy; don’t forget you are to and that you are worth it! Thank you, Habitat for Humanity.
