What Home Means to Me

What Home Means to Me Written by Addy At first, I thought home was just a place, but it is not. It is also a feeling and something far more important. It is the feeling of belonging and knowing I can be myself. I do not need to worry about anyone judging me, I can just be me. It is where I can let my emotions run free and be understood. Home is a place where I can feel safe with my family. It is somewhere I feel accepted and loved by the people I know and care about. Home is somewhere I can create traditions and memories with the people I adore the most. I can feel comfort and warmth with all the people that love and cherish me. Home is not just four walls and a roof over your head. It is a place of happiness and laughter where I can be myself. Home comes in many assorted sizes. It can be big or small, but it must be somewhere that matters. Homes are like stars; they shine the brightest for who they belong. Home does not always have to be in a house. It can also be on the basketball court where I can be with my friends and laugh. It can also be at school with my friends where I can feel accepted and known. Home is a basic need that everyone deserves. Not a house, a home.
