House versus Home

A house is bricks, cement and beams, A building made of nature’s dreams. It can stand so strong , a place to stay, But without a fire to light the way. Its rooms are filled with an echoed sound, But our happy feelings cannot be found. A home, though, is way more than cement and stone, It’s where the heart will never be alone. It’s warm with laughter and the sound of love, a space where we will fit, like our hands in two gloves. The walls of a home are not just made to stand, They all hold memories we’ve crafted by our hands. A house can shelter, it can protect, But a home brings peace, our deep respect. It’s the peace and comfort in every room, A safe, comfy place that can chase our glooms. A house can stand so quiet and still, But our home is awake with a heart that's filled. A home is a strong feeling, a happy space. It’s the members, the love, the happy face, That makes a home, a home, not just a place. Habitat for humanity, making homes so true, because everyone wants that feeling, me and you.
