Bricks Make a House. Family Makes a Home.
Home for me is a place where I can relax and be myself. Sure, my house may be small, and not have much space, but it has room for my family, me, and my cat. When I was little, everytime we went on a trip, my sister and I would always wave to the house and say goodbye. And when we got back, and drove into the driveway, we’d say hello again. My cat is an indoor cat, we’ve had her for five years, so she’s gotten pretty comfortable at home. Her favourite thing to do is to hide under my mum and dad’s bed when she’s scared, because she gets scared really easily. Leaf blowers, snowblowers, snowplows, the vacuum cleaner. Pretty much everything that makes a loud noise scares her. My parents bought the house after they got married, and a year after they got married, they had my older sister. Then two years after that, they had me. So, I’ve lived in the house for my whole life. And my room used to be all pink, with childish stickers all over the wall, and the bookshelves overflowing with kids’ books, and now my room is all green, with a bunch of posters of some of my favourite games or shows. My sister's room has changed too, a LOT, and so has our personalities. As we mature, and grow older, and taller, our home stays the same. So one day, when we’re too old to live at home, and we have to move away and get our own place. My childhood home will always hold a special place in my heart.
