A Safe and Happy Place

Written by: Sarah Mehta Home is a safe and happy place A comfortable and heart-warming community With my loving family My dad, my mom, my brother, myself and our cat, Leo Makes our house full In the gloomy morning my dad wakes up to the sound of my cat He quietly walks downstairs to not wake my family Then quickly prepares our lunches for the day After school, I smell leftovers of his delicious cooking Made with love, filling my belly with a wonderland of food. We come together every night to share our thoughts throughout the day Once a week, as a special treat, we eat downstairs while watching our favourite show together. Leo is our cat he is a outdoor cat, he always comes in in the morning Meowing at the back door He wants to go outside But it's too snowy, I play with our cat when he’s restless So he can get most of his energy out, I use Leo’s favourite toys, some of them are just pieces of string he finds. I like making Leo welcoming beds out of Boxes, when I come home from school I’m happy to see Leo Sitting on the roaring vent to get warm from being in the cold. My brother’s name is Kieran, in the morning he is very hard to Wake up my brother when he’s sleeping like a baby. My mom’s job is the family one, so she stays at home Instead of going to work, she takes care of us kids. To me, home is not just a safe place home is a welcoming, heart-warming Place where you can feel loved.
