My Home is Not Just a Home
My home is a place of safe security. It’s where I feel genuine happiness and joy.
It’s where my drawings lay on the floor as I read about wondrous adventures. Home is where the warmth of the fireplace surrounds the whole house. It’s where even when I’m melancholy, I’m still a bit content.
Home is like a warm, cozy hug.
My home is the smell of a candle burning in the kitchen. It’s the smell of brownies baking while the oven screams at me to come turn it off. It’s the smell of the food in the kitchen cooking on the stove, while my stomach grumbles as I wait for supper. My home is the smell of my perfume that I put on before I leave the house.
My home is my happy place.
My home is the sound of piano songs echoing throughout the walls. It’s the sound of music playing on the speaker as I paint a picture of a snowy landscape. It’s the sound of laughter flowing around the kitchen table after my dad tells a joke. My home is the sound of birds chirping and tweeting outside of my window when I wake up in the morning.
Home is endless peacefulness.
My home is looking out the window in the morning to see the sunrise glistening in the sky. It’s my family always together while my cat sleeps on the couch. It’s the affection and cooperation of my family. It's the puzzles that my mom and I do spread out across the table.
Home is acceptance.
Home is the best place in the whole world.
