Home is Like Water

The way home works, is like a body of water. Think of waves, some days are really wavey and some days are very still. The smell of the kitchen scents is always gushing out, whether it’s delightful or unpleasant. It will always remind me of the ocean scent. The sight of a pool reminds me of the lake, with everybody in the family playing or swimming there. The sound of water, running as it splishes and splashes like rapids flowing fast as ever. The feeling of the smooth damp floor right after it’s been mopped reminds me of walking on wet rocks by the shallow water. The taste of unfiltered water is like accidentally tasting the beach water on a hot day. Home to me will always be those five senses of water. The day can be rough or smooth.
